Last Flight Out, despite the name, is not dedicated to airlines. It reflects more an attitude toward travel — and maybe life in general. Most of us want to hang around a little longer in those memorable places we find ourselves, to slow down and rest awhile.
These pages are a small collection of my journeys along the back roads of the world, where the people I meet and the comedy of everyday life are just as memorable as the scenery. No matter what stage of life you’re at, the best adventures come from the freedom of the open road. My advancing years haven’t dimmed the desire to be behind the wheel and seek out new adventures.
If these stories do anything, I hope they encourage you, because no matter your age, it’s all about the journey — windows down, music on, and the open road ahead. The people, the stories, the unexpected moments all remind us: sometimes we shouldn’t rush…. pause a while and take that Last Flight Out.
